Many research projects assigned by Brooks history teachers require the use of an
article from a scholarly journal. The following journals are considered
scholarly (written by historians for their peers). Note that to access Brooks's
Luce Library Electronic Resources is currently restricted to the on-campus
network. Off-site researchers should try their local library web site, as
library card holders are usually allowed to use their electronic resources.
American Heritage (1954-current): A classy, respected, well-written
magazine, with articles written by leading historians for the general public.
Though not technically correct, the Brooks History Department does consider
American Heritage acceptable as a scholarly journal.
